Event Overview
The Council for the At-Risk Student Education and Professional Standards (CASEPS):  Learning and Online Diversity Officer Certification runs from June 15th, 2022 to April 28, 2023.

CASEPS Certification Overview
When most people think of DEI officers, an on-site administrator comes to mind. But what about online spaces, facilitation, program development, and oversight? Are you an instructional designer, faculty member, or DEI specialist? Are you passionate about culturally responsive design, teaching, and student well-being? Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Taking this professional development course will provide you with information about cultural responsiveness and the most effective strategies for supporting faculty members, instructional designers, students, and staff. You will also learn about the most effective theory and applications of culturally responsive design and supports through cultural, social, and learning research.

This interactive workshop aims to delve into the online ecosystem of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently, best practices are focused on site-based aspects of institutions. This workshop provided the opportunity to explore the role of a Learning and Online Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (LODEI Officer) and the different methods used to enhance online and hybrid learning experiences. Participants will complete exercises to improve the discussion and understanding. This certification also has an internship component that can be completed while you are working.
