Event Overview
Are you an instructional designer, technologist, administrator, librarian or faculty development partner interested in creating full day and/or multi-day workshop and summer institute for your faculty institutions? If so, this workshop is for you!

Learn from the panel, how they launched initiatives to create innovative and interesting summer institutes for their faculty. Topics will include the budgets, strategic planning, timelines, resources, partners, events, logistics, and outcomes for faculty involved in their campus faculty summer institutes. Panelists will show a range of budgets and workflows and discuss how their programs have evolved for their faculty and faculty development initiatives. During the hands-on planning session, attendees will determine why (or why not) a Summer Institute might be the best fit for their organization. Attendees will learn strategies on how they can start small and let their visions grow over time.

Session Outcomes:
 - Determine and find funding opportunities, as well as, how to build institutional support towards faculty development initiatives and programming.
 - Identify key audiences, stakeholders, and collaborators to strategically reach out and build relationships, including creative and innovative partnerships with on- and off-campus organizations.
 - Generate ideas for faculty and/or staff development programs, events, and resources with a particular focus on the general design of and costs associated with these opportunities.  Focus specifically on all day and/or multi-day faculty summer institutes, while including ideas for a variety of programming.
