Licensing Agreements

NERCOMP originated as a time-sharing consortium in the days of big, multi-million dollar mainframes. This time-sharing consortium has evolved into a variety of licensing agreements that NERCOMP makes available at substantial savings to its Member institutions. Currently, NERCOMP members can take advantage of NERCOMP participation agreements with Microsoft, Adobe Element K, as well as a number of evolving relationships (outlined below).

To participate in NERCOMP licensing agreements, an institution must first have its request for membership approved by the board and pay the annual dues for the current year. The licensing agreements all have deadlines that may differ from our membership year. More information is available in the section on Licensing Details for logged-in members.

Adobe
NERCOMP has renewed their Contractual License Program (CLP) with Adobe Systems Inc. Adobe’s CLP 5.0 is a flexible licensing program that enables NERCOMP members to purchase Adobe software products and receive the discounts and benefits of a large-volume purchase without having to make large upfront expenditures. NERCOMP members are thus able to receive substantial discounts over and above the existing standalone educational prices provided by Adobe.

Adobe ELA Site License Agreement
NERCOMP has signed an ELA Site License Agreement with ADOBE through SHI. Schools can now take advantage of a per FTE – annual fee to cover all university owned machines with one of 3 Adobe Suite products – Design Premium / Web Premium or Master Collections.

Blackboard
NERCOMP and Blackboard are pleased to announce that we have renewed our agreement for 2012-2015. This new agreement incorporates some changes and additions which will benefit NERCOMP members using Blackboard's products and services. All discounts are in effect from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. Member institutions that wish to participate in this agreement starting in 2013 or 2014 (Years 2 and 3 respectively) will receive the pricing associated with those years as stipulated in the agreement.

ECAR
NERCOMP and ECAR are very pleased to announce a partnership to foster broad collaboration in the professional development arena.

Element K
NERCOMP is offering its member institutions an opportunity to try out the Element K web based training product, and has negotiated a consortium pricing agreement for its members.

Microsoft
NERCOMP's Microsoft Campus Agreement Program is entering its eighth year. Over 100 member institutions are currently participating. The NERCOMP/Microsoft Campus Agreement Program is among NERCOMP's most popular membership benefits.

Symantec FTE Based Licensing Program
NERCOMP schools face continued budget cuts and “doing more with less”. One area of concern is providing cost effective security software across the campus. Symantec and SHI have announced a new FTE based licensing program designed to save money while providing a secure environment.

Wolfram Research
Wolfram Research is pleased to extend special pricing to NERCOMP member institutions who want to incorporate Wolfram Research products into their curricula and academic research.
