This is a new role in my team. Brandeis has been using Slate for 7 years and we have multiple Slate databases that my team supports across campus. I am looking for someone with Slate experience who can easily jump in and provide support. If you have experience with JavaScript and/or SQL, that is a bonus! This is an IT role that will get to explore many different, and more advanced features in Slate.
Come join our experienced, collaborative Slate team at Brandeis University. Our IT team has supported Slate across campus for several years and our team is growing. Brandeis has multiple Slate databases and utilizes Slate for both Undergrad and all of our Graduate Admissions. In addition, many offices across campus use Slate for various other applications, CRM functions, portals and more.

The ideal candidate will have Slate Admin experience with developing and supporting all aspects of Slate including features such as portals, security roles, query bases, datasets and other advanced features. This role will be located in IT and the candidate should have experience working in an IT environment. Knowledge of SQL, JavaScript and HTML preferred, but not required.

Position Purpose:

This role supports Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), located in University business units, who use use 3rd party software to conduct work critical to their mission. This role assists the SME’s to implement and maintain, their business rules, policies and procedures, within pre-defined software systems. Furthermore, this role works to keep SME’s and department management fully informed, through training and the creation of supporting materials, of new and changing functionality within their specified set of software products.

Essential & Other Functions:

Maintain and support the existing suite of supported products and associated delivered technology solutions for the various administrative offices/departments.
Provide system administrative support to the SMEs in the units, as well as, technical software configuration and development that will need to be sustained as business needs evolve.
Support the Admissions Offices software and integrations.
Implement new project work relating to the development or configuration of the business application suite of software.
Implement new features or upgrades for the business application suite of software as needed.
Use technical and social skills to design and implement solutions that strive to improve business processes in the units.
Forecast future business application needs to provide recommendations for outreach to potential units on benefits, adoption and implementation.
Write technical documentation such as business & system requirements, work flows, data flow, data design.
Create user documentation for on-going support of the business applications suite of products.
Create technical documentation to support any project work that will support on-going change management procedures.
Create training materials for the business application suite of products targeted for both new users and existing users.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or another relevant discipline is required.
A minimum of 3-5 years total work-related experience in a related discipline is required.
Experience in managing small teams (team leadership/project lead), and/or project management experience is preferred.
Experience with SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and database design is preferred.
Experience working with admissions processes and systems preferred.
Applicants should have managed multiple projects from beginning to end, and should have a demonstrated ability to elicit information requirements.
Must have an aptitude for developing and providing system administrative support (sys admin) for business application software.
