Reporting to the Director of Advanced Technology, develop custom applications, integrate, and automate systems that serve the School of Architecture while supporting current systems. Participate in, review, and give input on all steps of software development life cycles.
Troubleshoot issues and provides on‐site and on‐call DevOps administration and support for applications, hardware, software, and cloud-based systems. Provide system design and administration for a wide range of computer hardware and software technologies. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide software and hardware solutions to implement emerging technologies while focusing on ease of use, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. Coordinate School of Architecture systems with Yale ITS and its infrastructure as appropriate.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Significant knowledge of programming languages, AWS cloud computing platforms (EC2, S3), and database technologies. Significant hands‐on ability with technologies based on Microsoft Windows and Linux (Ubuntu). Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Intermediate to expert knowledge of Ruby, C#, Python, IIS, GitHub, SQL, and working with 3rd party API’s.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Ability to work under pressure, and manage projects and priorities independently in a highly complex, dynamic environment with a high level of communication and customer service skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Ability to work across teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Intermediate understanding of computing infrastructure and network topology. Expertise in managing webservers, DNS, Active Directory, and systems in a Windows domain environment.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three years to five years of experience of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform, Microsoft Excel, AWS user rights management, AWS iAM policy, and AWS billing practices.
