We are seeking a creative and collaborative Instructional Designer to join our team. The individual in this position will be accountable for developing, implementing, and assessing projects and programs related to the thoughtful and innovative use of digital technologies to support teaching, learning and research in a residential liberal arts setting. This position is also accountable for serving a central role in supporting the application of universal design for learning (UDL) principles in support of inclusive pedagogical approaches and guiding the learner-centered use of accessible technology tools. In addition, this role serves as a technical and pedagogical expert in the use of supported learning platforms, including course management technology (e.g., Moodle), web-based collaborative tools, and interactive classroom technologies. The position works in close collaboration with key partners within ITS, the Center for Learning, Teaching and Research, and the Office of Disability Support Services to ensure the alignment of resources and needs.
- Experience using (accessible / assistive) technologies to support inclusive pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with faculty members to identify and implement technologies to assist students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience designing and facilitating workshops / training sessions for faculty and students.
- Five (5) or more years experience working with clients in instructional design or educational development in a university setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in project management.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of managing a learning management system.
- Experience designing and conducting program evaluations and/or research studies.
- Experience participating in large initiatives across an entire organization through consultation, facilitation, and training.
Master’s degree in a relevant field (including but not limited to education, instructional design, educational technology) OR a bachelor’s degree with an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience.
