The LMS Administrator is responsible for delivering solutions to business needs related to the Learning Management System (LMS) by testing system performance and provider updates, analyzing functional requirements, recommending and designing possible solutions, assisting with the development of systems and subsystems, and preparing supporting documentation. The role will be responsible for managing the University’s LMS using native and custom tools, providing database support, working with data integration, and testing upgrades.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Act as liaison to LMS stakeholders for service improvements and changes - Maintain systems that support business needs, while ensuring the highest level of data security - Involve and/or obtain additional resources when needed (e.g., specialist teams or people for specific issues and opportunities) - Engage in thorough and routine system testing to validate performance goals and identify shortcomings - Work with and analyze LMS-based datasets to identify problems and recommend remedies - Maintain good communication around issues and opportunities; communicate across organizational boundaries from system end users through senior management - Prepare documentation and explain technical projects; develop diagrams, charts and data to explain complex topics such as data flow, system utilization, and trends - Provide system administration for D2L/Brightspace, Blackboard, or similar systems - Work flexible hours as necessary Minimum Qualifications: - 1-3 years LMS system administration in a production setting (with a preference for D2L/Brightspace) - 1-3 years testing and evaluating a production system - 1-3 years working with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MS Access) - 1-3 years working with LMS third-party (publisher) content - An understanding of LTI and/or other LMS extensibility technologies - Mastery of system testing - Proficiency with project management and project collaboration - Familiarity with publisher tools and content integrations - Familiarity with instructional design principles, practices and/or theories

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Instructional Technology, or related field of study
