Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of Application Services, the Manager of Business Systems Analysis leads a team of Business System Analysts supporting, troubleshooting, planning, developing, implementing, and improving multiple business systems across the University. This role will be key to the continued successful adoption of Workday along with other administrative applications.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for working with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, business analysts, tech operations teams, and vendor support teams to understand ongoing issues or areas of improvement, and then determine solutions that meet University needs while considering cost, time, and scope.

Essential Duties

Assists the director in planning, coordinating, and troubleshooting activities around the team.
Report, track, and resolve application related issues with the multiple vendor support organizations.
Troubleshoot on systems and data and generate solutions which may include systems modifications enhancements or new procedures.
Supervise the Business Analysis team, develop and manage resource allocation and work plans that support the overall direction and priorities of the organization. Establish operational objectives, schedules and work plans and delegate assignments to staff.
Understand University business processes and impacts on internal systems.
Identify, solution, and implement new features, functionality, or applications that drive efficiencies, better user experiences, or add value.
Build and maintain a positive, trusting relationship between IT and business areas.
Work with all levels in the organization including presenting and leading meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
8 years' related experience.
Demonstrated management experience to lead a Business Systems Analysis team and develop talented and diverse staff.
Demonstrated excellence in managing large and complex business systems implementations, upgrades and related operations.
Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills to independently determine priorities, identify and resolve highly complex problems having institution wide impact.
Demonstrated experience in independently creating detailed and readily understood briefings, presentations and proposals.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with IT colleagues, business analysts, analytics staff, and business users.
Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Experience in higher education preferred.
Experience with Workday preferred.

Work Environment

Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work.
Ability to travel around campus for meetings and other work related events.
