The Senior Workday Project Manager/Business Analyst (SWPMBA) brings together and leads project teams focused on IT-related projects, systems implementations and strategic projects improving and maturing how we use the Workday platform and associated technology services to do the work of running the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience leading efforts to support an institution’s day to day operations and business processes using Workday, will have hands-on experience working with related administrative applications and supporting infrastructure, and will employ creative strategies to help clients understand, manage, and improve complex processes and systems. Reporting to the Senior Director for Project Management and Business Analysis Enterprise Technology Services, and working closely with Workday platform owner, the SWPMBA will collaborate with business and technology teams as we seek to leverage our Workday platform investment in support of music and performing arts education in an expanding portfolio of programs offered online and on our campuses in the United States and Europe.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with and skilled in managing strategic/complex technical projects as well as performing detailed analysis. They are a key member of a team of highly engaged professionals charged with helping to modernize, streamline, and standardize business processes and systems in a creative, entrepreneurial environment. Remote work possible for this position.

Job Purpose:
The Senior Workday Project Manager/Business Analyst (SWPMBA) functions as project manager on strategic projects and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with Berklee’s strategy, commitments and goals.

The SWPMBA also functions as a business analyst, serving as a liaison between Berklee’s client and technical areas to assess and develop requirements for standard end-user, business, and service needs and procedures. The SWPMBA plans and conducts preliminary studies of potential administrative applications or technology solutions and prepares project charters to reflect resources required to develop services that meet Berklee needs. The SWPMBA also plays a role in performing and facilitating quality assurance, systems testing, and user acceptance activities.

The SWPMBA provides leadership by participating in the ongoing refinement of internal best practices and developing close partnerships internally and externally to ensure the delivery of high quality services that meet the needs of the Berklee community. The SWPMBA coaches colleagues across the organization in project management and business analysis techniques and works to mature the institution’s project management and business process improvement framework in a way that fits within the culture of the organization.

The SWPMBA adds project management and business analyst expertise, industry knowledge, and informed opinion to strategic Enterprise Technology Services department discussions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate and monitor all project activities ensuring all deliverables meet quality and performance objectives
2. Create and deliver project level documentation and provide scheduling coordination (i.e. status meetings and reports, working sessions and agendas, RAID logs, Project Plans etc.)
3. Serve as a liaison between client and technical areas to assess and develop end user, business and service requirements
4. Maintain responsibility for performance, cost, scope, schedule and quality
5. Maintain a high level of communication with internal and external teams; providing clear, tactful, and complete directives, realistic deliverable deadlines and prompt feedback
6. Work side-by-side with project and departmental team members in a hands-on capacity in order to ensure that all deliverables meet client expectations
7. Perform and facilitate business analysis, quality assurance, systems testing, and user acceptance activities
8. Participate in technical design sessions, ensuring that the business requirements and objectives are articulated and addressed by the designed solutions
9. Coach colleagues across the organization in project management and business analysis techniques
10. Contribute to the refinement of internal best practices to ensure the delivery of high quality services that meet the needs of the Berklee community
11. Support innovation through the creation of new industry leading methodologies
12. Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree and relevant business process analysis and/or project management training and experience required
2. 12+ years’ overall PM/BA experience (10+ with advanced degree) effectively managing complex projects and/or services in support of business functions
3. 3+ years’ experience project managing Workday HCM, Payroll or Finance implementations required
4. Project Management Professional (PMP), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification required
5. Sound project management knowledge, skills and abilities with a variety of methodologies (waterfall, lean, agile) and business process tools (e.g. swim lane diagrams), and the flexibility to apply the best method to the needs of each project
6. Working knowledge with at least one of the following business areas: Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, and/or Budget
7. Experience in a higher education environment preferred but not required
8. Experience with the Workday platform required. Experience with other administrative business applications (e.g. ERP, CRM) preferred (e.g. Colleague, PowerCampus, Salesforce, etc).
9. Exposure to and understanding of systems and infrastructure, including identity access management (IAM) concepts and technologies (e.g. SSO, Active Directory, Universal ID, etc)

Required Skills:
1. Strong interpersonal skills to understand the broad range of needs and various support requirements for delivering exemplary customer service
2. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats as well as to create and maintain positive, productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel, both internal and external (e.g. vendor partners)
3. Ability to operate independently and set priorities amongst multiple task assignments
4. Excellent judgment and strategic skills for ensuring mutually positive outcomes, balancing internal priorities with client objectives
5. Equally comfortable with detailed analysis and research as with 'big-picture' considerations and priorities
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks, assignments, and projects
