Provide expertise in the use of instructional technologies across disciplines, modalities, and a deep understanding of a variety of approaches for working with faculty to identify, understand, and employ technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and engagement of students in their coursework. Provides dedicated support for faculty who wish to engage technology in face-to-face, online, or hybrid instruction.
Provide training and support of instruction design methods via the LMS and other teaching and learning technologies. Provide instruction design expertise, recommendations, best practices, and guidance to faculty in support of online, hybrid, and traditional face-to-face courses. Monitor shared inboxes, maintain and access third party portals, support the adoption and integration of the Canvas LMS and its integrated tools, and create and maintain online tutorials, web pages, and other resources for faculty teaching multimodal courses. Work collaboratively with other departments and programs to identify and support faculty teaching with technology.
Support faculty in their pedagogical use of academic technology in physical and virtual classrooms. Collaborate with IT (and others) to provide training and tutorials on the pedagogical use of classroom technologies that support active learning and hybrid modes of teaching.
Work closely with IT’s LMS Administrator and user support team to support, design, and teach multimodal delivery of curricular services for faculty and students. Administer, test, document and support LMS and affiliated integrations that apply to teaching and learning. Troubleshoot problems related to the College’s LMS and other teaching and learning applications and systems, alongside vendors when applicable for support, enhancement requests, or issues.
Collaborate with the Center for Teaching Excellence, Academic Media Services, Library, Information Technology, School of Continuing Education, and other units that support technology usage for instruction. Serve on or chair the iHelp /Committee to encourage collaborative technology support across the educational technology support units of the College. Collaborate to create events and programs that showcase and promote faculty use of teaching and learning technologies.
Train and develop student workers in the knowledge of software to develop online training materials and technical skills to support faculty projects.
