While the rollout of CrimsonZip is the current focus of the position, the Technology Partnership Manager will hold a broad portfolio of projects which use the MyDataCanTM software. This includes (but is not limited to) collaborating with institutional partners working with manufacturers to incorporate artificial intelligence algorithms into their processes, computer scientists seeking to do secure work on consumer protection, and students investigating new models of user data sharing.

In this interest, the Public Interest Tech Lab is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated professional to lead the Lab’s development and implementation of technologies which use MyDataCanTM and the various applications it interfaces with.

The position is cross-functional and involves managing and contributing to the project in collaboration with both the team at the Public Interest Tech Lab and its external stakeholders. The Technology Partnership Manager will build successful working relationships with outside businesses, potential and current donors, external universities, as well as students, faculty, and organizations within Harvard.

With the team at the Public Interest Tech Lab, the successful candidate will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets and grants, work to achieve project milestones, and maintain correspondence with all stakeholders. They will also work with Professor Sweeney and the team on how users interface with MyDataCanTM and how companies might use it as a potential model for their own user data collection practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Becoming facile with all aspects of the user experience of various apps the software is used for;
- Attaining an in-depth understanding of how the software works and can be used in different situations;
- Serving as a resource for third parties who are interested in integrating the software into their own apps or infrastructure;
- Liaising with app partners and Tech Lab team members to provide consultancy and support on design and implementation;
- Anticipating the needs of the project as it develops in terms of technology, grant writing, and staff development;
- Archiving the history of the project on the Public Interest Tech Lab’s website;
- Oversee financial aspects of the project in coordination with Latanya Sweeney, the Public Interest Tech Lab Manager, and the Shorenstein Center’s finance team including (but not limited to) drafting budgets, writing narrative reports, processing invoices, making purchases, and manage spending on appropriate grants and/or gifts;
- Supervising and managing project team members if necessary; and
- Serving as a representative of the project at center-wide meetings.

Note: This is a hybrid job requiring regular on-campus presence in Cambridge, MA.

Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.

The following are preferred, but not required:
- 5+ years of experience in product/project management and/or business development, working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and external partners
- Experience working with engineering/technical teams to understand a product or feature enough to articulate needs to third-party vendors
- Experience managing multiple project simultaneously
- Strong business insight and high intellectual curiosity
- Understanding of (or interest in) basic computer-programming skills and concepts (e.g., Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, Java, C++, etc.)
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, faculty, third-party stakeholders, potential donors, and public
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field and/or Project Management certification.
