Hamilton College is searching for a Web/Data Developer to join our Business Intelligence and Web Services team. The Web/Data Developer will work as part of the team that programs and manages Web-based applications, data integrations, and database systems that are used throughout the college. We’re looking for a full stack developer that is interested in server side programming, as well as front end JavaScript, CSS and related technologies. The successful candidate will also have experience and passion for working with data and data integration, helping to build the College’s data platform and business intelligence environment.

● Thorough knowledge of, and experience with, Web technologies and the development of interactive Web applications.
● Expertise with CFML (ColdFusion) or similar server side languages, JavaScript/AJAX (and libraries such as React.js and jQuery), SQL Server, HTML/CSS and browser and platform specific issues, IDE editing tools, JSON, XML, basic Java, and other programming technologies.
● Advanced SQL language and query skills
● Deep understanding of APIs and data integration technology.
● The ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
● Above average customer service skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
● Should be able to communicate technical information (both written and verbally) to technical and non-technical people in a supportive and meaningful way.
● Experience with the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, go-live, testing) and software development lifecycle (including versioning/Git) in a functional or technical context.
● Must embrace learning and working with constantly changing technology.
● Work collaboratively within our team, the department, and with campus partners.
● Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and an understanding of the contributions a diverse workforce brings to the workplace.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or the equivalent of education and experience combined.

Location: Hamilton’s 1,350-acre campus is situated on a hilltop overlooking the picturesque village of Clinton, N.Y. The College is eight miles southwest of Utica, 45 minutes east of Syracuse, one hour from the Adirondack Park to the northeast, and 90 minutes west of Albany.
