The Workday application analyst plays a critical role in managing Workday at Colby College. Reporting to the director of consulting and solutions in ITS, this position assists with Workday business applications in partnership with College departments and stakeholders. The Workday application analyst performs key configuration, support, security, analysis, and business process workflow tasks in Workday. Beginning with the College’s Workday HCM and Financials implementation, the Workday application analyst serves as point of contact for Workday application management, partnering with campus stakeholders in human resources, payroll, and financial roles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Provide Workday subject matter expertise to functional leads to uphold business processes, configuration, and security efforts
*Coordinate resolution of issues and manage Workday requests for assistance
*Design, implement, and maintain process for review and testing of semi-annual, as well as interim updates to products
*Serve as primary Workday security administrator
*Guide efforts to evolve and optimize the business application framework to serve the College
*Oversee change management across the administrative application environment, including Workday and touch points with other administrative applications
*Act as business relationship manager with external vendors that directly relate to administrative applications
*In partnership with functional owners, configure, test, and maintain Workday functionality to meet business requirements
*Provide guidance and recommendations on application functionality to meet business needs
*Collaborate with other ITS staff to provide day-to-day assistance to functional areas
*Identify and investigate errors in Workday business processes, employee data, or data configuration, and work with functional owners to resolve and mitigate the impacts of any changes to Workday processes
*Troubleshoot complex process, application, and functional issues and be responsible for seeing issues through to resolution
*Perform additional duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

This position has frequent and direct contact with ITS peers and colleagues, administrative and academic personnel, and third parties such as vendor and consulting contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS: *Three or more years of progressively responsible experience working in a technology-rich functional environment; higher education experience preferred *Familiarity with human resources, payroll, finance, and Workday (or the equivalent ERP) preferred *Demonstrated experience with the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, go-live, testing) in a functional or technical context *Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills *Collaborative, constructive, and positive approach to work *Ability to handle confidential information tactfully *Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong relationship skills *Attention to detail in both completion of work and documenting work products *Effective time management practices, applied in a fast-paced environment *Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, establish priorities, and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse community WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General open office and campus environment. Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary.
