NERCOMP invites your recommendations for candidates to serve on the Board of Trustees. This is an outstanding opportunity to serve the profession and help lead one of the most vibrant, successful information and library technology organizations in the country. Elected candidates will begin their 3-year term of service in April 2017. Whether you wish to nominate yourself or a colleague, submit your recommendations by noon on Friday, January 13, 2017 to be considered for this year’s NERCOMP Board election slate.
The NERCOMP Board is both a working and advisory one. Members are expected to attend all Board meetings, and actively contribute to key activities and committees for a minimum of an hour or two of work per week, on average. NERCOMP always seeks candidates who are active in the profession and are able to fully engage with the organization. The Nominating Committee strives to recommend a slate of candidates representing the following:
– private and public institutions;
– community colleges, liberal arts colleges, research universities, and specialized institutions;
– different states within the NERCOMP region;
– different professional roles such as CIOs, academic technologists, and librarians.
The election opens on February 8, 2017 and runs through 5:00pm EST February 22, 2017. A statement and photo are posted for each candidate standing for election. Institutional Representatives cast their vote on behalf of their institution; their participation is a critical success factor in the election process. New Board members are announced in early March.
