NERCOMP NewsJanuary 27, 2026

We are excited to announce this year's Katie Vale Memorial Scholarship and Mark Berman Community Outreach Award recipients.

We received nominations from a strong and deserving group of people. Each nominee had made a significant impact on the higher education IT community and to NERCOMP.

Kimberly Money Priddy picThe Katie Vale Memorial Scholarship recipient is Kimberly Money Priddy of Middlesex Community College - MA. The award is presented each year to a woman who exhibits a deep passion for technology's role in higher education and exemplifies the qualities of an emerging leader. The committee felt Kim embodied the heart of the scholarship named for Katie. Kim embodies many values with Katie, including her professional excellence, creative vision, inclusivity, collaboration, and her passion for technology and the library.

Karen Warren picThe Mark Berman Community Outreach Award recipient is Karen Warren of Wesleyan University.  This award is presented to someone who demonstrates excellence in nurturing relationships and bringing people together within higher education. The committee felt Karen best embodied the heart of the scholarship named for Mark.  Karen exemplifies the spirit of community outreach through her sustained commitment to mentoring, leadership, and service within the higher education IT community. Karen has consistently used her platform to promote inclusive hiring, equitable access to technology, and leadership pathways for underrepresented groups in IT.

Please join us in congratulating these two astounding individuals. The formal awards ceremony will be held at the NERCOMP Annual Conference, Day 2 General Session on March 11th.
