Vijay Menta is a seasoned IT executive and higher education leader with over 26 years of experience driving technology-enabled transformation, organizational effectiveness, and service excellence. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he leads digital learning, application development and integration, cloud strategy, self-service and automation, academic and research computing, academic technologies, and user success and experience.
Vijay brings deep professional management and leadership expertise, including strategic and tactical planning, multi-million-dollar program delivery in matrix environments, people and vendor management, budget planning, and end-to-end software and service lifecycle management. He is known for building high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, resolving complex challenges, and driving successful change management through strong partnerships with academic and administrative stakeholders.
His leadership approach emphasizes clear communication, data-informed decision-making, and alignment of technology, people, and process to institutional mission and long-term strategy. Vijay was recognized as a finalist for the 2024 ORBIE Award for CIO of the Year in the nonprofit and public sector category.
Vijay holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis and spending time with his family and friends.
