The Lead Financial Systems and Business Process Analyst supports the Colgate mission by analyzing needs, providing technical guidance, helping with process improvement, and recommending and implementing solutions within the finance division. This position is responsible for providing support for financial systems and users, optimizing processes and the user experience of assigned software and systems, developing sustainable interfaces and developing in-house solutions when appropriate.
- Demonstrated broad-based knowledge of accounting principles

- Demonstrated expertise and experience in using and learning enterprise accounting and financial systems (Banner, Workday, Oracle, etc.)
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written, used to explain financial and business systems to a wide range of users

- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students within a university context
Technical Competencies
Financial Analysis:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct moderately complex financial analysis
- Demonstrated ability to summarize results into formats and visualizations that are easy to consume and understand
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and provide meaningful insights of moderately complex financial analysis
Finance and Accounting
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting concepts and GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to understand journal entries and general ledger entries
- Demonstrated ability to ensure appropriate quality control over finance applications/platforms including maintenance of test scenarios and appropriate execution of testing
- Demonstrated expertise with all applicable compliance guidelines and applicable regulatory agencies
Programming/Technical Skills
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and create PL/SQL procedures
- Demonstrated ability to convert user requirements into code
- Effective working knowledge of ERP and database concepts
- Demonstrates ability to research, recommend, and implement software solutions
- Develops new functionality within existing software systems
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred with multiple years of experience in managing, monitoring, and working with enterprise financial systems or software
- Banner experience is preferred
