Proposal Idea
There is increasing interest in the opportunities for the integration of online learning to compensate for the losses experienced by institutions of higher education as a result of the pandemic years. Even prior to 2020, there was growing concern about the efforts of institutions to address persistence and completer data while continuing to grow in an environment of change. As the pandemic fades into the rear-view window, our attention is being refocused on responding to a contemporary population of students who have changing needs and interests. This presentation will examine promising practices for reversing this trend.
We will identify three emerging best practices that reverse the trends of declining enrollment and degree completers and provide data that supports comparable practices in many institutions. Areas of practice will be identified through the following:
o Student course design and delivery
o Collaborative data assessment and outreach initiatives
o External partnerships
Learning Objectives:
Explore important knowledge and skills that inform persistence and degree completion data.
Understand the larger ideas and perspectives impacting this and related to their own respective institution.
Synthesize and make application of potential best practices to address variable data about persistence and degree completion.
Event Type: Webinar/virtual
