NERCOMP is pleased to announce Mark Davis of Swarthmore College as the recipient of this year's Mark Berman Community Outreach Award.

Mark's work has always been person-focused, often weaving together insights about technology and leadership with his expertise in EQ, Accessibility, and DEI. He has an enduring commitment to developing and nurturing productive relationships and teaching others how to do the same. He has helped to build productive communities within NERCOMP and elsewhere, using these tools and others such as well-defined "rules of engagement" and expectation-setting to ensure that all contributors are treated equitably and fairly.

Not enough can be said about Mark's efforts to help envision, design, and build the NERCOMP Mentorship Program. He was instrumental in co-chairing the committee, designing the curriculum for mentor training, and presenting a fascinating webinar on Emotional Quotient and its role and value in mentorship for all participants. This program addresses an often-requested need from the NERCOMP membership and promises to be an offering that demonstrates the value that NERCOMP provides to its community. This would not be the case without Mark's input and significant effort.

In his own words: As a seasoned team builder and thought partner, Mark is dedicated to professional development, creating synergy, and fostering cultures of inclusive excellence. He is deeply committed to fostering cultures of Accessibility, Emotional Intelligence, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in order to support and uplift others. Mark actively serves on CUPA-HR, NERCOMP, and Swarthmore DEI committees, where he focuses on training and raising awareness about critical business practices that require DEI considerations.

Please join all of us in NERCOMP as we congratulate Mark on receiving this important award.
