In this (remote possible) Senior level position, reporting directly to the CIO, you will lead critical IT projects, including the migration from PeopleSoft to Workday. Your role is essential in ensuring these projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, all while minimizing disruption to university operations.

You will collaborate closely with the CIO, university leadership, stakeholders, Organizational Change Management, IT Training, IT Communications, the Administrative Application Group, the IT & Cloud Infrastructure Group, and other key teams. Excellence in collaboration, team building, and fostering inclusive environments is essential, as you will solicit diverse viewpoints to ensure comprehensive and well-rounded project outcomes.

A key aspect of this position is the commitment to driving value and doing what is best for URI. You will be responsible for setting clear goals and defining success metrics, such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Return on Investment (ROI), to measure the effectiveness and impact of IT projects. By establishing these metrics, you will ensure that ITS initiatives align with the university's strategic objectives and deliver tangible benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Agile Methodologies: Apply Agile principles and coach others in practices like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• ERP Migration Oversight: Oversee large ERP projects, specifically the migration from PeopleSoft to Workday for HCM, Financials, and Student Information Systems, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal disruption.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with faculty, administrative staff, and external vendors to gather requirements and align projects with university goals.
• Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Financial & Technical Management: Manage financial, architectural, and technical aspects of projects to ensure predictable delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
• Operational Execution: Drive all aspects of project execution, managing both operational and tactical elements to deliver final objectives.
• Team Leadership: Utilize excellent lateral management skills to lead ad hoc project staff, third-party contractors, vendors, and potentially student staff.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 6 years of professional IT experience.
• 4 years in IT project management.
• Proven experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum.
• Knowledge of hybrid project management approaches (e.g., "Wagile") for large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects involving ERP implementations, preferably PeopleSoft and/or Workday.
• Solid understanding of ITSM, ITIL, SDLC, and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
• Demonstrated experience with IT and organizational change management methodologies
Preferred:
• Experience in higher education or similar environments is highly desirable.
• PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or similar project management certifications (e.g., PMI or VITA certification) are preferred.
• Experience with fit-gap analyses and estimating FTE requirements for large ERP projects.
