What role would you like to play in organizing this workshop? I’m interested in organizing a workshop on this topic.
Intended Audience: Instructional designers, academic technologists, faculty developers, and higher education professionals seeking practical examples of faculty development initiatives related to AI.
Proposal:
This webinar showcases a practical, replicable model for faculty training on generative AI, developed by a solo instructional designer at a small college. The training was created to support faculty with varied levels of AI experience by establishing a shared foundation of knowledge and skills.
Attendees will see how the course was structured for accessibility, flexibility, and real-world application—including short self-paced modules, screencasts with step-by-step guidance, and interactive tools like H5P. The session will include a live demo of the course and provide access to a public-facing version, offering participants a chance to explore and adapt ideas for their own institutional contexts. Reflections on lessons learned, faculty engagement, and implementation strategies will also be shared.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe a practical model for AI-focused faculty development.
2. Identify course design features that support varied experience levels and busy schedules.
3. Reflect on institutional challenges when offering AI training.
4. Consider how to adapt the approach or course elements at your institution.
