What role would you like to play in organizing this workshop? I’m interested in organizing a workshop on this topic.

Intended Audience: Instructional designers

Proposal:

Are you seeking to enhance online learning at your school? Do you want to make your student learning experiences more accessible and inclusive? Join our interactive panel presentation and discussion featuring the Online Learning Fellows from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

These fellows, recruited from the graduating Master's students in education for a one-year term, play a pivotal role in the school's Teaching and Learning Lab's course design team. Initially set up to support online education during the COVID-19 pandemic, the program is now entering its fourth year. It serves as a unique case study, aiming to offer practical experience to recent graduates transitioning to professional practice while integrating student experiences into the team's staffing and design capacity.

Facilitated by the Senior Learning Designer, the four fellows will discuss their career motivations, unique contributions, and insights gained from their year of service to the school.

Learning Objectives:
* Identify the mutual benefits of a short-term apprenticeship for beginning instructional design practitioners and online learning programs.
* Reflect on strategies to increase the staffing capacity of the course design team and provide transitional support for new online program development.
* Advocate for the inclusion of recent graduates in the course design team and recognize their contributions to the design process.
* Describe practical strategies to make online learning accessible and robust through dedicated talents in inclusive learning.

Additional Comments:
To whom it may concern:

If you are inclined to accept this proposal, is it possible for you to do it this Spring before the end of May 2024 or by early June? We wanted to feature this program before the fellows finish their term. I also wanted to feature four fellows in a panel format.

I would be happy to be a point of contact and discuss this further. Thanks for your consideration.

Best regards,
Haejung Chung
