Nominate Yourself OR Nominate a Colleague
If you, or someone you know, is awesome, interested in higher ed IT and libraries, loves NERCOMP and wants to find a way to get more involved, or is interested in developing as a leader, consider submitting a nomination to the NERCOMP Board! The NERCOMP board offers the opportunity to work with a super supportive and engaged group of leaders, including individual contributors, managers, and CIOs, working together to improve higher education through technology.
NERCOMP is accepting nominations for its Board of Trustees. Elected candidates will serve for a three-year term beginning in April 2025. This is an outstanding opportunity to serve the profession by helping to lead one of the most vibrant and successful information technology and library organizations in the country. Submit your recommendations by noon on Friday, January 3, 2025.
The election opens on February 3, 2025, and runs through 12:00pm EST on February 19, 2025. A statement and photo are posted for each candidate standing for election. Institutional Representatives cast their vote on behalf of their institution; their participation is a critical success factor in the election process. New Board members are announced in early March.

Your recommendation should reflect the nominee’s qualifications for Board membership. Include any special skills or interests and past involvement with NERCOMP or other relevant organizations. If you are nominating a colleague, please indicate that the individual has expressed a willingness to run for election.
The NERCOMP Nominating Committee will review all potential candidates recommended by the general membership to build a representative slate based on the following criteria:
- community colleges, liberal arts colleges, research universities, and specialized institutions;
- different states within the NERCOMP region;
- different professional roles such as CIOs, information technologists, academic technologists, and librarians;
- each prospective candidate must be an employee of a NERCOMP member institution in good standing at the time of the election
Expectations
NERCOMP Board members are expected to:
- Attend all Board meetings.
- Actively contribute to key activities and committees for an average of 1-2 hours per week
- Understand the full Board responsibilities as detailed in the Bylaws.
Upon confirmation of each candidate’s willingness to stand for election, the slate will be submitted to the NERCOMP Board for approval. The approved slate is then voted on by the Institutional Representatives to determine the elected Board members.
