What role would you like to play in organizing this workshop? I’m interested in organizing a workshop on this topic.

Intended Audience: Hiring managers, faculty and staff who serve on search committees, anyone interested in equitable hiring practices.

Proposal:

This full-day, in-person workshop would provide attendees with an overview of unconscious bias, bias risks in all stages of hiring, and strategies to reduce bias throughout the search. The session would be a mix of presentation, whole group discussion, small group activities and time for self-reflection. These are topics that I have trained/presented on in the past at my institution (to faculty, staff, and students) and for other professional development organizations. Attendees would be provided with tools and resources at the end of the day.

Event Type: In-person workshop

Track: Leadership & Organizational Development
