Event Overview
This 45-minute session is part of a 3-session workshop detailing various ways of increasing instructors’ social presence for increased student engagement in the online and HyFlex learning environments. Framed under the Community of Inquiry (CoI), participants will be introduced to the description, value, and design process of Instructor-generated videos (IGV). Effective practices, various tools, tips, and a Canvas Studio Feature walkthrough will be detailed. Two Short HapYak and Doodly videos will be run for examples of taking engagement in your videos to the next level. This will be preceded by a brain trust/whiteboard activity where participants focus on areas for use as well as possible challenges and the opportunities IGVs present. Learning Objectives
Participants in this session will:
 - Describe the instructor-generated videos as a means for increasing both faculty and student engagement and connectedness
 - Develop a structure for a course design and teaching practice that utilizes instructor-generated videos.
 - Identify and determine the ideal practices for implementing and disseminating videos in your courses and/or promoting these practices for your faculty.
