Event Overview
Working in online spaces can be a wonderful experience. But have we created safe spaces for faculty and students working remotely and in virtual spaces? This certification highlights the need to think intentionally about keeping faculty and students safe in online spaces. After taking this certification faculty and staff working in online spaces will have a better understanding of crisis prevention in online spaces. From Zoom bombing to serious mental health crises occurring in online spaces, faculty will have a plan for crises that occur in online spaces.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Explore the concept of crisis prevention and intervention in online spaces.
- Increase their understanding of how to create effective and healthy levels of care within an online space.
- Practice techniques to give and receive emotional support in online spaces.


Learning Modules

Module 1: Introduction to Online Spaces and Mental Health and Education
 - 
Explore psychological attributes of caring, honoring, and support for online spaces.
 - CoI Model and why it is important when providing online safe and brave spaces.
 - Identify key attributes of effective educational experience services in online spaces. 

Module 2: Mental Health in Online Spaces: Faculty
 -
 Identify how the online space influences mental health experiences, interventions, and outcomes.
 - Demonstrate a basic understanding of the attributes required for effective and online healthy experiences. 
 - Explore trauma in virtual spaces and the key differences from face-to-face experiences. 

Module 3: Introduction to Crisis Intervention in Online Spaces 
 -
 Define crises in online spaces.
 - Identify the Five Domains of Crisis Prevention in the online space.
 - Explore online policy development for an online crisis.
 - Best practices for assessing risk and management in online spaces. 

Module 4: Apply Crisis Prevention Intervention Techniques and Strategies 
 - 
Overview of best practices.
 - Create a toolkit for crisis prevention intervention in online spaces.
 - Think T.A.N.K. wrap-up activity.
