Event Overview
Do you operate drones on your campus? Before they take flight, make sure you understand the 2021 FAA rules of operation.

This webinar is designed to highlight the importance of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Rule changes and share updates for all sUAS (small unmanned aircraft system) operations. We'll define what the rules are and how they affect the safe operation of drones in the college and/or university environment. Emphasis will be placed on knowing the rules of operation and identifying who the key stakeholders are in the overall safe operation of a drone program.

The presenter will personalize the lesson to reflect the unique characteristics and challenges experienced in creating a college drone program and will:

- Use real-world examples of issues encountered to illustrate how pitfalls can be avoided and emphasize the importance of coordination of stakeholders in the decision and issuance of equipment to users.
- Show how end users will instantly pick up on any ambiguities in the rules for operation and may ignore guidelines or will just “going through the motions” of compliance with them to gain access to equipment.
- Try to show that compliance motivation is an integral component of a successful program.

The outline provides an introduction, outline of the main points, and a conclusion to be adapted as required to meet the needs of a particular institution.
