Event Overview
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI)® allows the seamless integration of web-based, externally hosted tools into Learning Management Systems (LMS). LTI is a widely adopted standard supported by all major LMS, and implemented in a slew of web-based educational tools from companies like Turnitin, Pearson, Piazza, and Cengage, McGraw Hill, Kaltura, and Atomic Learning to name just a few.
Presenters will discuss the evolution of the LTI standard, policies for adopting LTI apps into your learning environment, developer experiences creating LTIs, and how to select LTIs that meet your institutional and pedagogical needs. Session Outcomes:
• A better understanding of the history and motivation behind LTI, including its origination, growing adoption and visibility, and future possibilities
• Exposure to the specific features of the current 1.1 version and the next major release, version 2.0
• Learn from LTI-experienced people to understand what resources and knowledge are needed to create LTI applications
• Gain valuable insight into the process of adopting and implementing LTI apps into learning environments in a thoughtful, productive, and trauma-free way
