Event Overview
Today, in education, creating immersive visual and auditory experiences, using digital 360-VR technology, is happening more rapidly, and less expensively, transforming teaching and learning environments.  After today’s session you will have knowledge of the information, resources and tips to create your own immersive experience(s). Focus areas will include: the consumer 360 LG, and Insta Nano, cameras, and the post production editing software, Power Director. You will be actively viewing raw media images, and video files from these cameras used to create immersive content. ThingLink, YouTube, and Vimeo, will be highlighted, and additional websites will provide further areas of immersive exploration.  In addition, professionally created, emotionally charged scenes, will be featured highlighting immersive journalism experiences.   A brief research article will look at the ethical issues that can arise using immersive technology i.e emotionally frightening content, and potential physical effects of immersive experiences.
