Kill Two Security Birds with One Stone (Training and Risk Assessment)
Speaker: Cathy Daggett
Cathy Daggett serves as the Comptroller for Fitchburg State University and is responsible for the daily financial operations of the University. Her responsibilities include budgeting, purchasing, accounting and grant administration. Cathy has been with the university for fifteen years. She has served in various roles within the Department of Financial Services including Director of Accounting and Director of Financial Reporting and Analysis prior to being appointed Comptroller.
Cathy is an alumnus of Fitchburg State University graduating in 1994. She became a certified public accountant shortly thereafter and spent many years in public accounting providing services to clients in a variety of industries, governments and non-profit organizations throughout New England. Cathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Finance Officers Association.
Speaker: Sherry Horeanopoulos
Sherry Horeanopoulos has been the Information Security Officer for Fitchburg State since 2008. In the 12 years prior to that, she was a Systems Administrator and Help Desk Manager at the University. Having a broad knowledge of both the technical systems and the user services sides of technology have proven invaluable to the performance of security-related initiatives at Fitchburg State. While learning the “security ropes”, Sherry was involved in developing training at several of the state colleges and universities and started an Information Security Officers council that includes members from all over New England.
