Event Overview

Managing computers in Labs and Classrooms presents unique challenges in the academic environment. How do you take a “personal computer” and make it usable for hundreds of individuals that will use it during the term? Participants will suggest topics, and set the agenda of this Unconference. You will be encouraged to share both questions and solutions about the challenges you have. Throughout the day there will be opportunities to make “Connections” with people that share your specific technologies for assistance both during and after the event.

Possible session topics include:
-Deploying Windows 10 in a Lab environment
-Deployments, Package vs. Image, when/how is one better than the other
-Server-hosted applications and whole virtualized images

At the beginning of the day, participants will vote on the actual topics they wish to discuss. Don’t expect long PowerPoint presentations on specific topics, instead we are encouraging participation on multiple topics with time to meet others who may be able to help you with your specific technical questions both now and in the future.

- You are not alone. Right here in New England are dozens of individuals that are struggling with the same professional challenges. Take home contact information of people that you can bounce ideas off of in the future.
- Discuss at least one challenge you are currently working on, and take home potential solutions to try at your specific institution.
- Share your knowledge and experience, taking home a better understanding of how to present your ideas to others.
