Event Overview
Our modern lives are full. The stresses of time pressure, finances, performance, and relationships surround us. Technology has enabled us to move very quickly and increased our performance, but in many ways has inhibited true connection with others, including ourselves.
The practice of mindfulness is a growing trend, one meant to help increase our own self-awareness, presence, and resilience. This trend extends to the workplace, where companies like LinkedIn are developing best practices about how to bring these techniques to life in a scalable, secular, and inclusive way.
In this session, we’ll explore several basic techniques we can all use to reduce our stress and become more aware. We’ll discuss how the development of our own awareness helps us become better versions of ourselves. Since we don’t live or work in isolation, we then take that better version of ourselves into our relationships with others, increasing our compassion, increasing our ability to serve all of life.
Session Outcomes:
Participants will:
- Understand the role of mindfulness and compassion in the workplace
- Learn 2-3 techniques to build presence and self-awareness
- Learn a technique to thrive through difficulty
