Event Overview
As higher education institutions face increasingly sophisticated phishing attacks and rising cyber-insurance premiums, the traditional password has become a liability. This session explores the transition to a passwordless ecosystem using the Okta Identity Security platform. We will discuss how to balance "frictionless" user experiences for students and faculty with the "zero trust" requirements of IT. From FastPass to FIDO2, learn how to build a roadmap that eliminates the weakest link in your security chain while streamlining the digital campus experience.

Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate the Passwordless Roadmap: Identify the technical and cultural milestones required to move from traditional MFA to a fully passwordless environment within a campus setting.
- Optimize User Experience & Security: Analyze how phishing-resistant authenticators (like Okta FastPass) can simultaneously reduce help desk tickets and harden the institution against credential-based attacks.
- Architecting for Diversity: Understand how to implement flexible identity policies that account for the unique needs of diverse populations, including researchers, transient student bodies, and alumni.
