Event Overview
Are you involved in student hiring? If so, you probably know what a circus it can be! Join us and explore the ever-changing world of student employment.
Our student employees have never been more important, as we all continue to be asked to do more with the same (or less) staffing. During these interactive, discussion-based sessions, the Student Employment Circus will investigate your personal expectations of student workers as well as how student workers (and student employment) have changed in recent years. Our group discussions will include sharing our experiences, successes, and failures as we look forward to building our student employment programs. Together, we will brainstorm ideas and share documentation, hiring & onboarding methods, training strategies, and retention efforts.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Examine the Student Employment cycle from advertising the job to hiring / onboarding
- Pinpoint the challenges and stressors commonly encountered during each stage
- Strategizing, developing & maintaining a training program
- Motivating students to return through rewards/recognition/relationships
Note: These sessions will not be recorded. In order to be able to prioritize group connection and experience; participants will have the option to turn cameras and microphones on during the sessions.
