Event Overview
Has your university seen a decline in student enrollment and degree completion? Many have been experiencing changing needs in students since the pandemic and an increase in online learning. So, what can we do about this?
Even before 2020, there was growing concern about the efforts of institutions to address student persistence and completer data while continuing to grow in an environment of change. Currently, there is increasing interest in the opportunities for the integration of online learning to compensate for any losses experienced by institutions of higher education because of the pandemic years.
Now it's up to us to refocus our attention on responding to a contemporary population of students who have changing needs and interests. Join us for this presentation, where we will examine some promising practices for reversing this trend.
We will identify three emerging best practices that reverse the trends of declining enrollment and degree completers and provide data that supports comparable practices in many institutions. Areas of practice will be identified through the following:
- Student course design and delivery
- Collaborative data assessment and outreach initiatives
- External partnerships
Learning Outcomes
- Explore important knowledge and skills that inform persistence and degree completion data.
- Understand the larger ideas and perspectives impacting this and related to their own respective institution.
- Synthesize and make application of potential best practices to address variable data about persistence and degree completion.
