Event Overview

There are many factors that impact student success in online courses from course design following quality standards to online student support services, from instructor presence and interaction to an engaging and interactive learning environment. This SIG will examine the various factors that can lead to student success and focus on the best practices and strategies that local institutions have employed to ensure that students enrolled in online courses have a successful learning experience.

Take-aways
During this SIG, participants will have the opportunity to:
• Discover new approaches to creating a successful online learning experience.
• Learn how your colleagues create successful online learning environments.
• Collaborate on key questions around student success in online courses and discuss best practices to answer those questions.
• Develop practical ideas that can be implemented on your campuses.

Active Learning
Throughout the day, there will be small group conversations and activities focused on exploring key issues around student success in online courses. Participants will have to opportunity to discuss and brainstorm strategies to develop programs that support students in online learning and create a successful learning experience.
