Event Overview
Colleges and universities are in the business of collecting information, whether it is students' personal data, research data, healthcare, or financial information. How do you find the right balance of protecting data and fostering productivity while meeting regulatory compliance?

Let's talk about NIST 800-171. DoD requires compliance for research contracts with a DFARS 252.204-7012 clause and Export Control (ITAR/EAR) to protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) and the FSA announced in December of 2020 they are encouraging the implementation of NIST 800-171 controls to protect student data, starting with self-assessments sometime in 2021.
