Time to ensure everyone has access to assistive technologies on their personal computer – a screen reader, such as Voiceover or NVDA, and built-in accessibility tools.

When it comes to procurement, it is important to understand the legal landscape regarding accessibility, as well as industry standards, to implement contract language to protect your institution.

Identifying stakeholders and a team of people to support the vetting process is critical to success. Who should be involved? Why? What is each team member’s responsibility? What might the policies and procedures this team abides by in terms of “vetting before getting” look like?
11:00am - 12:00pm Assistive Technology Testing Play (Hands-on)
Together we will spend time with assistive technologies (screen readers, speech-input, magnification tools, etc.) and use them to test various software as practice.

When you’re in a pickle, and there is no other viable product/service option on the market that meets needs, you must have an alternate but equal access option. What does a plan like this look like? And why?
