Event Overview

Applied use of programming languages and coding skills are quickly becoming an in-demand skill in today’s library and information service environments. This interactive workshop will introduce participants to basic programming and data control concepts using JQuery code in their browser. This goals of this workshop are to give attendees an introduction to programming concepts, and practice coding in JQuery in a fun, open environment. This introductory workshop is suitable for participants with no prior programming knowledge, as long as you are comfortable with technology. If you've written Excel formulas or made a simple web site with HTML, you will fit right in. Join your fellow NERCOMP librarians and technologists in learning basic coding concepts and how you can use programming in your work.

You will need to bring your own laptop or Chromebook. You will need either Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox (with the Firebug extension installed), or Safari pre-installed on your computer.
