Job Description Summary

This is a 2-year limited-term position with possibility of extension. This position is grant-funded and not eligible for severance pay.

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead, oversee, and ensure successful delivery and management of critical efforts to define and implement a student success data ecosystem over the next two years, including requirements definition, implementation, and rollout of Bentley’s student success management and analytics capabilities.

The ideal candidate has experience managing large, multi-departmental initiatives, brings a strategic mindset to each project, focuses on mobilizing diverse teams to achieve business results, and is a proven communicator with people at all levels of an organization.

Essential Duties

Work with university project teams to ensure successful project delivery and realization of expected business benefits
In partnership with the IT Project management Office, review the project proposal to further define time frame, budget, staffing requirements, and allotment of available departmental resources
Establish project governance and navigate project hierarchy to facilitate decision-making, issue escalation or resolution, and status communication, in partnership with the IT PMO
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to establish a work plan for project activities, iterations or phases
In partnership with the IT PMO, arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel to the project team, including sourcing external consulting help when needed
Direct, assign, and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
Review contracts, Statements of Work, and work plans of external service providers or consultancies contracted to execute project as needed
Manage budgets, invoicing, tracking and reporting for all aspects of the project
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks
Effectively lead and facilitate meetings with a variety of groups, including project teams, senior leadership, and external vendors
Create and maintain project documentation
Establish and implement project communication plans
Contribute to defining and executing project change management strategy
Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
7+ years of project management experience with 3+ years managing strategic projects
Ability to motivate, persuade and engage project teams to accomplish challenging goals and objectives
Ability to manage multiple demands and multiple projects at once
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Proven track record communicating with all levels of stakeholders in IT and business.
Strong analytical skills
Exceptionally organized with reliable follow-through on tasks
Experience using different project methodologies (e.g., waterfall, Agile frameworks), with the ability to assess when a particular methodology should be applied for greatest chance of project success
Proficiency in Smartsheets and/or similar project management tools
Ability to craft and deliver professional presentations using MS PowerPoint and other tools

Preferred Qualifications

Higher education experience strongly preferred
Business analyst experience strongly preferred
Understanding of the vocabulary, key data points, challenges, and best practices around student success in a demanding university environment
Experience with data analytics and reporting project management

Work Environment

Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work
