The primary purpose of the Senior Network & Systems Engineer is to ensure the stability, reliability, and optimal performance of the information technology infrastructure. This involves managing, configuring and maintaining servers, networks, and systems, implementing security measures, troubleshooting issues, and recommending IT strategies to support business goals. The position will be responsible for log analysis to identify issues, vulnerabilities, and security threats and to research and recommend viable mitigation strategies. As part of that responsibility the position will also implement automated monitoring systems and alerts to ensure system integrity. Responsible for managing Linux and Windows server operating systems that support Siena's IT infrastructure, as well as network equipment and operating systems that sustain the network infrastructure.
Duties include network security, access control, software engineering, provisioning, operations, support, maintenance, and technical research to drive continuous innovation. Additionally, the Senior Network and Systems Engineer oversees project management for network and system initiatives, coordinating with multiple team members and collaborating with personnel across ITS and other departments.
Annual Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 3 or more years experience
• Cybersecurity awareness and cyber forensic skills
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Understanding of server and network operating systems, particularly MS Windows and Linux, Active Directory, and computer architecture.
• Strong programming skills, especially in scripting languages such as Perl, Bash, PowerShell, or PHP.
• Proficient in log analysis digital forensics to identify issues, address security concerns, and verify proper system functionality.
• WiFi design and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A background screening will be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree preferred
