NERCOMP Annual Conference Status Update

NERCOMP Annual Conference Status Update

March 12, 2020

Dear NERCOMP Attendee,

Based on the evolving COVID-19 situation within the country, including Rhode Island's Governor Raimondo issuing a proclamation stating, “Do not organize or attend events that will be attended by 250 people or more,” a growing number of travel bans and restrictions among the higher education community, and the need for campus staff to prioritize efforts at their home institutions, EDUCAUSE and NERCOMP have made the decision to transition the face-to-face NERCOMP Annual Conference to an online format.

EDUCAUSE and NERCOMP are working to provide a rich and rewarding online event experience. We understand our attendees are focused on campus issues right now, so we plan to offer the online event this summer. More details about the online conference will follow.

We realize how much time and passion our program committee, speakers, attendees, and sponsors devote to preparing for this event each year and we are committed to ensuring the work is shared with our community. We are also committed to bringing the community together in the upcoming online event, and will continue to work with you to bring you the best content available.

Your current conference registration will transfer to the virtual conference, and you’ll receive more details about the content and format of the virtual event in the coming weeks. If you wish to have your registration fee refunded, please contact info@educause.edu. EDUCAUSE is investing in new ways to scale online events and to support this community in contributing to and participating in this new, virtual event experience. Together, we will find new ways to inform and engage the community.

The Omni Providence will refund rooms canceled more than 48 hours in advance of the reservation date. Please follow the guidance in the confirmation email you received from the Omni or call the hotel directly at (401) 598-8000 with any questions. We are unable to provide refunds for travel expenses, but recommend you talk to those service providers directly.

We understand the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this decision and regret the disruption it may cause. Please contact us at info@educause.edu and watch the event site for more information.

Sincerely,
EDUCAUSE and NERCOMP
