We are excited to announce this year's Katie Vale Memorial Scholarship and Mark Berman Community Outreach Award recipients.
We received nominations from a strong and deserving group of people. Each nominee had made a significant impact on the higher education IT community and to NERCOMP.
The Katie Vale Memorial Scholarship recipient is Jaime Cleek of Dartmouth College. The award is presented each year to a woman who exhibits a deep passion for technology's role in higher education and exemplifies the qualities of an emerging leader. The committee felt Jaime embodied the heart of the scholarship named for Katie. Jaime embodies many values with Katie, including her professional excellence, creative vision, and self-motivation to learn, overcome challenges, grow, and help others.
The Mark Berman Community Outreach Award recipient is Lance Eaton of Northeastern University. This award is presented to someone who demonstrates excellence in nurturing relationships and bringing people together within higher education. The committee felt Lance best embodied the heart of the scholarship named for Mark. Lance's enduring commitment to community building, confidence boost to colleagues, ability to make things happen, and nurturing productive relationships while teaching others how to do the same are why he is so impactful to the higher education IT community.
Please join us in congratulating these two astounding individuals. The formal awards ceremony will be held at the NERCOMP Annual Conference Day 2 General Session on April 2nd.
