Event Overview
Your students want to learn on their own schedule, at their own time, using technology that enhances their learning! So, get on board with these three Universal Design Learning tools: FlipgridVoiceThread, and Padlet. These software products incorporate universal design for learning (UDL) strategies you can use in your asynchronous online instruction.

We'll show you as an online educator how to create group work activities to help asynchronous online students collaborate and build a deeper understanding of their academic coursework. In groups, participants will create a sample online course module in their Learning Management System (LMS) that includes the use of Flipgrid, VoiceThread, or Padlet.

The virtual workshop will allow ample time for clarification, brainstorming ideas, and executing a sample asynchronous online course module.

Session Outcomes:
 - Learn the difference between building group work for remote versus asynchronous learning environments.
 - Explore multimodal features of software designed for group work in asynchronous online settings as they relate to the universal design for learning framework.
 - Apply a universal design for learning framework in a 100% online environment featuring your desired academic subject area of interest as you build a sample module with Flipgrid, Padlet, or VoiceThread.
