Building and Optimizing an Information Security Program

Brian Coleman
Brian is the Information Security Officer and Associate CIO of Information Security at UMass Medical School. Brian has led the UMass Medical School Information Security Team since 2012. Brian has 20 plus years of IT management experience in Financial Services and Health Care, the last 13 years leading high performing Information Security teams. Brian has achieved his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certifications. Brian has presented at numerous information security and privacy forums.

Brian is an avid traveler to Mexico, Central and South America and lives in Connecticut with his wife Susanna where they both enjoy hiking and bicycling the trails and back roads of central New England.


Max Hyppolite
Max is an Information Security Engineer for Harvard University, Monitors University-wide networks and systems and provide response to Security incidents.


MIcah Nelson
Micah is the information security awareness officer for Harvard University, where he begs brilliant people not to use their middle name as a password.


William Reyor
William is the CISO of Fairfield University, Security BSides Connecticut co-founder, former Penetration tester, Social Engineer, Security engineer, Network engineer, Systems engineer, ham radio operator, CISSP, and cat herder extraordinaire.


Vince Spiars
Vince - 17 years with Wesleyan University from the Image manager/creator to Windows Server  and Exchange manager to Desktop Support manager to Operations manager (AIM —account management) to Security Information and Operations Manager. New to “Security” with background in all the places you’d see it needed.
