Event Overview
How do we bring innovation and creativity to our teams by attracting and hiring from a diverse pool of applicants? Managers, search committees, and anyone passionate about diversity and inclusion should join us for this highly practical session on equitable hiring practices! Learn how to uncover the unconscious biases and rigid processes that negatively impact our DEI goals and how to apply alternate strategies and mindsets in your own departments and institutions.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will:
- Be able to define/recognize different types of unconscious bias and how they impact the hiring process.
- Understand the importance of the qualification review process to screening a more diverse and inclusive pool of applicants.
- Learn a number of practical strategies to reduce bias and create friction in the hiring process.
