Event Overview
What is 3d printing, and why should campuses by interested? This event begins by answering both of those questions, starting with an overview of this rapidly developing and very exciting manufacturing technology. We outline the rise of "3d printing across the curriculum", a survey of the range of current uses. Next we introduce two case studies of a campus that has successfully deployed 3d printing. We conclude with participants discussing if and how they would approach or expand their use of 3d printing.
Participants will leave with knowledge of the technology itself, a sense of the various ways education now uses 3d printing, and thoughts about what this means for their respective institutions.
