Conversation with Apple and UMass Amherst— Preparing Students for the App Economy - Webinar - presented by Apple

Dr. Andrew Currah
Dr. Andrew Currah is an Education Leadership Executive with Apple. Based in San Diego, he consults with higher education institutions across the US around the design and implementation of student success technology initiatives. He has led Apple’s work with business schools and entrepreneurship programs for several years, with a focus on preparing students with the skills for the fast-growing app economy. Prior to joining Apple, Andrew served as faculty in the Center for the Environment, University of Oxford, with parallel appointments in the Oxford Internet Institute and the Oxford Reuters Institute of Journalism. He holds an MA, MPhil, and Ph.D. in economic geography from Downing College, University of Cambridge, England.


 

Jennifer Dame
Jennifer Dame is a Market Segment Executive with Apple.  Based in San Diego, Jennifer leads Apple’s key initiatives and business development efforts with community colleges in the United States.   She also consults on how to make use of Apple’s educational programs and opportunities that help prepare students with the skills needed to succeed in the in-app economy.  Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.  

Jeremy Kelleher 

Jeremy Kelleher is the engineering manager for the tech team at the Center for Youth Engagement (CYE). Jeremy leads multiple teams of undergraduate and graduate student programmers in designing and implementing the technology supporting the grants at CYE. He focuses on iOS software engineering in Swift developing apps for iPad.
 

Michael Krezmien

Dr. Michael Krezmien is a professor of special education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research focuses on innovations to improve outcomes for students with disabilities involved in the juvenile justice system. He is currently PI on two NSF grants to develop and study the use of iOS technology to improve STEM outcomes and STEM career outcomes for incarcerated youth. Dr. Krezmien is the director of the Center for Youth Engagement, whose work is focused on improving outcomes for high-need youth with disabilities in a variety of out-of-school contexts, including the adult and juvenile justice system. Through the CYE, Dr. Krezmien has supervised more than 50 undergraduate and graduate students who develop skills as iOS software engineers developing iOS apps for use in juvenile and adult corrections systems. Dr. Krezmien has more than 30 publications and has discussed his work in more than 100 presentations at national and international conferences. Dr. Krezmien has been awarded nearly $9,000,000 in federal, state, and foundation grants for research and student training.
