Event Overview:|
What does it really mean to bring your whole self to work when "your whole self" includes doubt, caregiving responsibilities, invisible challenges, a marginalized identity, or a world that feels like it's shifting under your feet?

This session does something we haven't done recently: the NERCOMP Leadership Ecosystem Committee is stepping out from behind the curtain. Rather than bringing in outside voices, we're turning the conversation inward and inviting you to listen in with us.

The questions we'll explore together aren't hypothetical. They've been alive in our own committee conversations for months. How do our values show up, and sometimes get distorted, under pressure? How do we navigate imposter syndrome, identity, and the personal weight we carry into professional spaces? What does it look like to model struggle in a way that builds trust rather than eroding it?

We are a group of higher education IT leaders who have been sitting with these questions among ourselves, and we decided they were too important to keep at our own table. This session brings that conversation to the broader community, a discussion where we share honestly, reflect together, and hope that something in our stories resonates with yours.

This is not a polished presentation. It's an honest roundtable conversation that started among colleagues who trust each other, and we're pulling up a few more chairs.

Session Outcomes:
 - Reflect on how personal identity, lived experience, and external pressures shape your leadership presence, and name at least one thing you may have been leaving at the door.
 - Identify how your core values show up when you are at your best, and recognize the early signs that stress may be pulling you away from them.
 - Take away at least one concrete practice for modeling vulnerability and uncertainty in a way that builds, rather than undermines, trust with your team.
