Jeff Berliner, Chief Information Officer, Institute of Advanced Study
Jeff Berliner has served as the Chief Information Officer at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ, since 2007. In this role, he is privileged to manage a diverse and dynamic team of 25 staff, and oversees all aspects of technology strategy, planning, policy, and service delivery for one of the world’s
foremost centers of intellectual inquiry and theoretical research.
Before joining IAS, Jeff served as the Director of Systems for the NYU School of Medicine and the NYU Medical Center. In addition to these roles, Jeff has served as both Chair and Vice-chair of the NJ CIO Forum. He has chaired three visiting committees for the Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute,
and currently serves as a member of their IT Advisory Committee. Jeff has been a speaker and moderator for many regional and national events including those for Educause, NJEdge and NJ Boys State, and currently serves as a mentor in the ACM’s SIGUCCS mentoring program.
On behalf of NERCOMP, Jeff has served as a member of the Professional Development (PD) Committee since 2019, and currently serves as chair of the Data Analysis Task Force. He has been a speaker and moderator for NERCOMP webinars, a facilitator for the NC20 and NC21 conferences, and a participant in Idea Planning Day. He served on the annual conference planning committee in 2021 and 2022, chairing the Systems and Solutions track, and is currently serving as Vice-Chair for the 2023 conference. Jeff is also the Institute for Advanced Study’s NERCOMP Institutional Representative.
Jeff holds a Master’s Degree in the Management of Technology from the NYU Polytechnic Institute (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University at Albany.
Stephanie Cox, Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Trinity College
Stephanie Cox is the Chief Technology Officer at Trinity College, where she leads major digital transformation initiatives spanning infrastructure, enterprise systems, identity and access management, and user experience. With experience in both higher education and the private sector, she brings deep expertise in large-scale IT environments, cloud modernization, and enterprise technology strategy.
Prior to Trinity, Stephanie spent a decade in Indiana University’s central IT organization, helping architect virtual infrastructure and enterprise support services across seven campuses. Earlier in her career, she spent 15 years in the private sector working with Fortune 500 biopharmaceutical companies, including Eli Lilly and Roche, supporting global technical operations.
Stephanie holds a B.S. from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Strategy from Johns Hopkins University. She is an active presenter within the higher-education IT community and currently serves on Trinity College’s Administrative Presidential Cabinet

Mark CJ Davis, Jr., Associate Chief Information Technology Officer, Swarthmore College
Mark Davis, the Associate Chief Information Technology Officer at Swarthmore College, is a seasoned IT leader, mentor, presenter, and author with extensive expertise in IT service management, Information Security, Client Relations, Organizational Leadership, team building, and strategic partnering. He excels in planning and implementing best practice methodologies, along with data analysis, and has a wealth of experience leading cross-functional teams to design and integrate technology solutions. His accomplishments include the implementation of ITIL best practice methodologies, ensuring service continuity for Hybrid and Remote work. In his various leadership positions at Swarthmore College, Mark has overseen and facilitated the day-to-day strategic operations of IT services. Including the management of institutional information systems, close collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students, as well as the establishment of strategic partnerships within the community. Additionally, Mark serves as chair of Swarthmore's Information Security Committee, contributing to the re-imagination of its mission and the enhancement of privacy, GDPR, and GLBA compliance, ensuring adherence to Information Security Policies, Standards, Processes, and Procedures within the organization.
His commitment to student success and DEI is evident through partnerships with the Dean's office, facilitating community events, and supporting initiatives like the Computer Access Pilot Program and the summer scholars program (S3P). As a dedicated team builder and consultative thought partner, Mark is deeply committed to professional development, creating synergy, and fostering cultures of inclusive excellence. He currently serves on CUPA-HR, (College and university professional association for Human Resources), where he contributes to the Learning and professional development committee and Annual Conference Program. Mark is a key member of Swarthmore’s DEI committee, raising awareness about critical business practices requiring DEI considerations. He has been a featured presenter at Swarthmore's inclusive leadership events and major conferences like NERCOMP, EDUCAUSE, and SIGUCCS.
As an active member of NERCOMP Mark passionately serves the community in a variety of capacities including the Conference Program Committee, Conference Track Chair, Professional Development Committee, Workshop facilitator and Community Relations Committee. He also co-chairs the Mentoring Task Force and has played a key role in implementing the NERCOMP Mentorship programs! In addition to his leadership role at Swarthmore, Mark is a 2023 Next Leaders Fellow, a leadership program advocating for BIPOC professionals and aspiring Senior Leaders and CIOs in higher education.
Mark's commitment extends beyond Swarthmore, where he works as a career and technology advisor in his community. He is passionate about the influence emotional intelligence has on people, partnerships, and progress!

Erin DeSilva, Associate Provost, Digital and Online Learning, Dartmouth College
Erin DeSilva is the Associate Provost, Digital and Online Learning at Dartmouth College. She works with a team of talented learning designers and educational technologists to support faculty in their course design as well as to manage the technology that helps facilitate student learning. Prior to joining Dartmouth in 2015, Erin worked as an Instructional Designer at Brown University and an Educational Technologist at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where her responsibilities included training and supporting faculty, designing and building courses, and other front-end infrastructure support. Erin has been involved in NERCOMP since 2009, facilitating SIG/Professional Development Opportunities and serving on the conference Program Committee, where she is currently vice-chair of the 2021 Annual Conference. She has led NERCOMP sessions on learning management systems, collaborative writing, assessment technologies, library/IT collaboration, and accessibility, among other topics. Erin is also a beneficiary of NERCOMP’s member services, and a strong believer in NERCOMP’s inspirational ability to lift up individuals while excelling in the innovation and important maintenance of the consortium.
Erin earned her Bachelor’s degree at Simmons College and her Master’s degree in Educational Media at Boston University. She lives in Norwich, VT, with her husband, Jerry, and children Ben and Josie. She owes so much to NERCOMP that she is thrilled to chair the 2022 Annual Conference and to serve on the Board.

Becky Frieden, Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Decision Support Systems, New York Institute of Technology
Becky Frieden is the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Decision Support Systems at New York Institute of Technology, where she leads a team of developers, project managers, business and data analysts, and data architects. As a member of the senior IT leadership team, Becky focuses primarily on the management and accessibility of enterprise data to enhance the decision-making power of university officials, and the efficacy of the user experience. To accomplish this work, Becky works closely with both internal and external stakeholders of all contact levels of the institution. Becky takes great pride in the trust-based relationships she has established within her institution, with colleagues at other institutions, and with her vendor partners. She has led many cross-functional, enterprise-level projects that have improved the value and efficiency of many administrative processes. Prior to her current role at NYIT, she was a Director of Administrative Information Services at Clark University in Worcester, MA.
Becky deeply values and is an active leader in several professional organizations. Becky is a NERCOMP Managers Series alumnus, and is currently serving on the NERCOMP Market Research Task Force. She has also served on the Ellucian Preferred Name Task Force; the Ellucian Committee on Algorithmic Packaging for Banner; and the Massachusetts Education Finance Authority (MEFA)’s Advisory Board. As an active member of the Northeast Directors of Administrative Computing (NEDAC) and New England Banner Users’ group (NEBUG). Becky has organized and presented at several regional conferences including a NEDAC conference on the future of ERPs; and several of the NEBUG annual meetings. She is also active with several of NERCOMP’s Communities of Practice, and the Society of Information Managers (SIM) Boston chapter. Becky enjoys seeing her staff grow professionally - as such, she has sent her team to many NERCOMP professional development opportunities including the New Horizons PMP course.
Becky has a BS in Finance from Boston College and an MBA from Clark University. She is also an alumnus of the Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) and has completed several graduate-level courses at Babson College. In addition to her administrative role at NYIT, she is also an active professor in the MBA and MSBA programs at Clark University and serves on the curriculum committee for the MS in Business Analytics program. Becky’s work in IT coupled with her passion for education has also led to many activities that focus on exposing young women to careers in IT or the IT industry.
Ray Frohlich, Director of Client Services and IT Operations for Yale University Library at Yale University
Raymond (“Ray”) Frohlich is Director of Client Services and IT Operations for Yale University Library, leading enterprise systems, research computing, and digital workplace strategy for a $10M+ portfolio. He served as Acting Senior Director from February 2024 to April 2025. With 25+ years at the intersection of information technology, libraries, and research, his work focuses on human-centered digital environments and practical problem-solving. Before Yale, he directed technology at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and New York University. He holds an M.P.S. from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and co-chairs the NERCOMP Leadership Ecosystem Committee.
James Monek, Director, Technology Infrastructure and Operations, Lehigh University
James is currently the Director of Technology Infrastructure and Operations at Lehigh University. Teams under his leadership are responsible for the campus cyberinfrastructure, including network, telecommunications, data centers, cloud services, systems, applications, and operations. He has over 25 years of experience and leadership in Information Technology, growing organizations, driving change by building successful teams, and implementing leading-edge solutions. His main focus is on providing technology, infrastructure, and collaborative solutions to support and foster innovation in higher education.
He holds several industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Cert Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), ITIL v3 Foundations, and CompTIA Cloud+ Certification. In addition, he has a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Philosophy and a Master of Business Administration degree.

Nhora Serrano, Director of Academic Technology, Teaching & Research Services, Hamilton College
Dr. Nhora Lucía Serrano is the Director of Academic Technology, Teaching, and Research Services at Hamilton College, where she leads a dedicated team focused on enhancing student-centered teaching, learning, and faculty research. She developed TECH Lab, a service designed to foster student innovation through technology and collaboration, and spearheaded the 2023 redesign of the library’s first floor, introducing a makerspace, innovative teaching classrooms, and production/privacy booths.
Dr. Serrano is actively engaged in the higher education technology community, serving on EDUCAUSE's Technology, Leadership, and Culture Advisory Committee and its Nominations and Leadership Development Committee. She co-authored the MLA Guidelines for Evaluating Digital Scholarship and chaired the 2021 LACOL "Play and Innovation" workshop. She was also part of the inaugural cohort of the Next Leadership Fellowship (2022-23).
With a background in Comparative Literature, digital humanities, and visual culture, Dr. Serrano is passionate about creating dynamic, collaborative learning environments that promote innovation and accessibility in today’s digital landscape. As a former humanities professor and scholar of Early Modern and Colonial Latin America, she views libraries—past and present—as vibrant spaces for collaboration, technology-driven creativity, and community engagement.
Dr. Serrano holds a BA in French from Amherst College, an MA in French and Art History from NYU, and a PhD in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her scholarly and public library work has garnered several prestigious awards, including a National Humanities Center grant, the Smithsonian National Postal Museum Scholarship, an NEH Summer Institute grant, and a Mellon University Press Diversity Fellowship at MIT Press.
She is the editor of Immigrants and Comics (2021) and the curator of the 2024 exhibit "Depicting Mexico and Modernism: Gordo by Gus Arriola" at Ohio State’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum.
In her spare time, Dr. Serrano enjoys painting with watercolors, refurbishing furniture, collecting books and comics, baking, gardening, and walking her two dachshunds.

Karen Warren, Associate Vice President for Information Technology/Deputy CIO, Wesleyan University
Karen serves as Associate Vice President for Information Technology at Wesleyan University and has oversight for the user services, technical services, and academic technology teams. Combined, they provide the foundational support for all other IT operations in the University, develop strategic input regarding systems and infrastructure, and provide support for teaching and learning through the use of technology. Karen developed and implemented ITSM for IT and has scaled the support model to other functional areas at Wesleyan.
Karen is currently a member of the EDUCAUSE Board and was a member of EDUCAUSE's Senior Director Institute faculty.. She has served as Chair of NERCOMP, the Northeast Regional Computing Program, a consortium of Universities throughout the Northeast and co-chair of the CT Education Network Advisory committee. She is an experienced presenter, having spoken at the NERCOMP Annual Conference, ServiceNow Knowledge, EDUCAUSE Annual Conference, and other professional workshops. Active in campus life, Karen is committed to crossing functional and departmental lines to bring integrated and scalable solutions to the Wesleyan community.
